SHORT BIO
Veteran Danish multi-instrumentalist/vocalist/rocker Thomas Stubgaard (The Lingertones, The Hitchcocks) has teamed up with New Trocaderos' songwriter/producer Michael Chaney to bring fans this debut release featuring 10 original RnR ass-kickers.

Chaney's songs have yielded three 'Coolest Song in the World' honors from Little Steven's Underground Garage, the world's premiere rock 'n' roll radio station, including two with The New Trocaderos, and most recently, "Girl Band," a tune he penned for Norway's The Dahlmanns.

Last fall, Stubgaard, a New Trocaderos fan, found himself with a stash of great, melodic hooks and took a flyer, contacting Chaney out of the blue to ask that they write a song together. Chaney loved the melodies, and within days "Take My Advice" and "Beer and Fun and Rock 'n' Roll" had been written. Those songs quickly led to others and before long, the ten original rockers that make up this album were recorded. Guitarist/songwriter/lead singer/drummer Brad Marino (The Connection, The New Trocaderos) heard the demos and agreed to play drums. Guitarist/songwriter/recording & mixing engineer Geoff Palmer (The Connection, The New Trocaderos, The Kurt Baker Band, The Guts) jumped in to engineer the recording of the drums and percussion. Final musical touches were added by keyboard master Kris "Fingers" Rodgers (The Dirty Gems, The Connection, The New Trocaderos, The Kurt Baker Band), and the album was mixed at Friar Park East by Geoff Palmer.

"The Ramones were my first musical heroes," said Stubgaard. "I read about Ed Stasium's work with them when I was a little kid. I am SO honored he took the time to listen to this record and digs it. I'm blown away."

If you're into The Ramones, Rockpile, The New Trocaderos, The Connection, The British Invasion, The Beach Boys ... this is a 'must have' record for you. Click on the links to hear for yourself while you check out the pre-release reviews below. RnR! And thanks!

REVIEWS
"Tommy and The Rockets are the 1963-65 Beach Boys reborn in 2016 Denmark - armed with supremely infectious melodies, harmonies to die for, and a stack of Ramones singles. If you remember rock n' roll radio, this is your new favorite band! With contributions from the creative minds behind The Connection and The New Trocaderos, Denmark's Tommy and The Rockets carry out a like-minded mission to fill the world with good time power poppin' rock n' roll. The band's debut takes us to a world where young love and fun in the sun reign for eternity. Which song is the hit? All of 'em! " - Lord Rutledge, Faster And Louder Blog

"Tommy And The Rockets play r-r-r-real Rock & Roll!" - Bill Kelly, Little Steven's Underground Garage & WFMU Radio

Michael Chaney has a penchant for writing short, energetic pop gems, so much so that he’s earned Little Steven’s Garage “coolest songs in the world” recognition several times (Most recently with Kurt Baker, Geoff Palmer and Brad Marino as Los Trocaderos). As Tommy & The Rockets, Chaney teams up with Thomas Stubgaard to create Beer & Fun & Rock ‘n’ Roll, a release that one might describe as the perfect sound for summer.

tommy and the rocketsJust like Billy Bremner’s “Loud Music In Cars”, the songs on Beer & Fun & Rock ‘n’ Roll have that carefree vibe that demands that you put the top down and crank the volume. It’s the essence of the Beach Boys, Rockpile and The Ramones all rolled into one.

Irresistible Beach Boys harmonies start from the opening title track and into “Here Comes Summer”, a song that’s basically one big hook from start to finish. The tempo change is a nice touch here. You’ll hear The Ramones in tracks like “What Am I ‘Sposed to Do” and “You Want Me But I Don’t Want You”.

Other highlights are “Take My Advice”, a lyrical gem about a pair of sisters, and “Need Your Love” a classic 3 minute rocker.
