New York based Australian artist MJ halloran and his band return to Europe for a series of shows to support the vinyl release of The General Projecton cool Spanish label Ghost Highway Recordsand the CD release of Phantom on wicked Aussie label, Off the Hip Records. Both records were recorded by the legendary Steve Albini. MJ Halloran has performed and recorded with artists in Australia, Europe, New York and Mexico and collaborated with Spencer P Jones, Dee Pop, Brian Hooper, & John Nolan and recorded with Steve Albini, Martin Bisi, & Mike Mariconda. Reviews of MJ’s previous work have lauded his poetic, acerbic, ironic and witty lyrics and described his music, delivery and performance as reminiscent of The Stooges, Nick Cave and The Gun Club.

On this record, he is joined by Stephen Boyle on piano, violin, and organ and Tim O’Shannassy on drums and percussion. Boyle is a classically trained artist and has collaborated with several great Australian musicians including Rowland S Howard, Spencer P Jones, Ian Rilen, Mick Harvey and Brian Hooper. O’Shannassy has recorded and played in Europe extensively during the late 90’s and early 2000’s with the seminal mood-band The Paradise Motel and has also performed with Brian Hooper Band, MJ Halloran &The Sinners, Mick Harvey, and Midnight Scavengers.
